Euler Study App Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This policy explains how the Euler Study mobile app (package com.eulereducators.study), published by Euler Educators (“we”, “us”), based in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, handles your information. Euler Study is a study app for senior secondary students preparing for WAEC and JAMB examinations. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by WAEC or JAMB. For our website, see our website privacy policy.

We handle data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. The short version

  • You do not need an account to use Euler Study.
  • Your name, profile photo, study progress, quiz scores, notes and highlights are stored only on your phone.
  • The app connects to the internet to download lessons, questions, pictures and updates. These downloads do not include any information about you.
  • We do not show ads, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we never sell your data.

2. Information that stays on your phone

The app keeps the following in its own storage on your device. We do not receive it:

  • the name you choose to show in the app, and your class level;
  • a profile photo, if you choose one. The app asks for access to your photos only when you pick one, and copies only that photo;
  • lessons you have completed, quiz and exam-practice results, reading time, bookmarks, notes and highlights;
  • your settings, such as study reminders and display preferences.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in your phone’s settings, deletes all of this permanently.

3. Information sent over the internet

  • Downloading content. To fetch lessons, questions, diagrams and pictures, the app contacts our content servers (Supabase, and Cloudflare for pictures). As with any internet request, these providers receive your device’s IP address and basic technical details (such as the time of the request) and keep them in short-lived security logs. We do not use these logs to identify you.
  • Videos. Lesson videos are YouTube videos played in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced (“no-cookie”) mode. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) receives the request under Google’s privacy policy.
  • Study reminders are scheduled on your phone. We do not send push notifications and do not collect a push token.

4. Optional features

The following features may be offered in future versions. Each is optional, and this section describes the data it would use. We will update this policy, and the app’s Google Play data safety section, before any of them is switched on.

  • An account and progress backup. If you choose to sign in (with an email address and password, or with Google), we would store your email address, display name and, if you choose to back it up, your lesson progress and quiz results, so you can restore them on another phone.
  • Subscriptions. Paid content would be sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your card or bank details. We would receive only a purchase token from Google, which we check with Google to unlock the content you paid for.

5. Permissions the app uses

  • Internet and network state: to download content and to tell when you are offline.
  • Photos (only when you pick a profile picture): to choose that one picture.
  • Notifications: for the study reminders you turn on.

The app does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or location.

6. Service providers

  • Supabase: content database and, if offered, accounts (privacy).
  • Cloudflare: delivery of pictures (privacy).
  • Google: YouTube videos, the Play Store, and optional Google sign-in (privacy).

Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria, under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

7. Children

Euler Study is made for secondary school students, some of whom are under 18. Because the app works without an account and keeps personal information on the phone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If optional accounts are introduced, students under 18 should use them with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights and deleting your data

Everything described in section 2 is under your control on your phone: you can delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing its data. If you ever create an account, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the data linked to it by emailing [email protected]; we will delete the account and its data within 30 days. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

9. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date above. If a change affects what we collect, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
